This unique technology that ensures scale-up * allows for the reduction of particle size or emulsion droplets, the disaggregation, the encapsulation of active ingredients, the formation of SUV or liposomes from MLV, and therefore the lab-scale production of nano - stable dispersions. * The method development on small volumes in the laboratory is completely transferable on Microfluidizer production instruments without the need of further optimization.

In a Microfluidizer system, a pump pushes the sample into a patented unique interaction chamber at 400 m/s creating very high shear forces associated with very high impact forces, thanks to pressures that can reach 30,000 psi. This allows to produce stable micro and nano suspensions and emulsions, but also to disaggregate carbon nanotubes, exfoliate graphene or clay, encapsulate insoluble active ingredients, reduce the molecular weight of polysaccharides, etc.

The main features of the Microfluidics M-110P available at AlfatestLab are:

  • Pressure: 2000-30,000 psi (138-2.070 bar).
  • Minimum sample volume: 50 mL.
  • Flow rate (water value): up to 120 mL / min.
